COLLECTIVE
Uplifting the spatial possibilities of Black communities through the tools of architecture, cultural preservation, and design.
Community LED. community DEFINED.
What happens when design, culture, and community come together? In this first episode our CEO, Vanessa Morrison, sat down with Oklahoma City Ward 7 Councilman and generational resident, Camal Pennington , to discuss the South of 8th: A Community Vision masterplan. As the first cultural and reparative justice centered masterplan in the City of OKC and commissioned by the Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority, this masterplan included over 400 NEOKC community members in co-creating a visioning guide for the equitable development of two historically Black neighborhoods (JFK and Harrison-Walnut) that were impacted by urban renewal in the 70’s.
By the Collective.
For the Community.
We collaborate with community members while leveraging the tools of architecture, design, planning, and cultural preservation to strengthen physical environments in which residents can thrive in place.
